Holiday Bunting
Well, the Winter Holiday Market at Wheeler Farm was a success! The Christkindl Market in Bluffdale was cold and snowy! We froze and hardly sold anything, so we won't be back this week. I did create some new holiday bunting - Joy, Merry, and Noel banners are for sale on the site, as well as a cute new penguin blanket. Some new car seat canopies are available at Dingbats, and I finished a cute custom Star Wars canopy for a client.

Holiday Boutiques and Markets
Not much new on the website as I've been sew busy making some darling penguin pillowcases and blankets, as well as some cute quilted ornaments and holiday banners. You can find us this week at Wheeler Farm's Holiday Market, Saturday and Sunday from 10-3. Dec. 8th and 15th we'll be at the Christkindl German Christmas Market in Bluffdale (check out their facebook page!). Should be lots of fun!!

Thanksgiving Decor
Just finished this darling banner for Thanksgiving, and a couple of dish towels. They are available for purchase on my Blackberry Bramble site.

Dingbats!
My 6 month contract with The Quilted Bear expired yesterday, and while I had a few good months there I wasn't making any profit. I have found a charming little antique and craft shop called Dingbats that is just starting out, and have decided to give them a try. They have quite a good variety of vendors already and their shop is intimate and comfortable. Here are some pics of the shop:

Halloween Bunting!!
Halloween Bunting is now available on the site! Didn't it turn out cute?
It is made from Riley Blake's Costume Closet Panel, backed with some cute
fabrics so it is reversible or can be hung between rooms.

Eleanor Burns Quilting Retreat
Just returned today from a fantastic quilting retreat with the Queen of 'Quilt in a Day', Eleanor Burns! It was so great to meet her and learn about her quilting techniques. I learned so much from her and the other instructors, and especially enjoyed the quilt we did entirely on the serger. I am so excited to try out what I learned at home! Here is my version of Eleanor's "Kylie's Quilt" that we did at the workshop.

With autumn, the holiday season begins
The leaves are changing and beginning to fall, there is a crispness to the morning air, and the corn mazes and pumpkin patches are opening - let the holiday season begin! Today I received my much anticipated fabric order for some cute new Happy Halloween bunting I'll be whipping up this week! I'll get a pic posted as soon as I finish one ~ these will be for sale at The Quilted Bear and through the website too! Also, now that my time at the farmer's market is done, I've had some time to work on some 'back-burner' projects. I've nearly finished a gift set for a friend's wedding gift, and I've got a baby blanket and some Christmas stockings in the works. Many patrons at the market requested some larger 'toddler blankets', and those are on my list as well. So many cute things to make, and not nearly enough hours!!

Thank you for your support!
I just want to send out a huge Thank You to all of you who have been down to support the Farmers Market, and especially those who have purchased from Blackberry Bramble! It has been so much fun (although exhausting, I admit)! We have met some great people and have really enjoyed the experience. There are still 3 weeks left so come on down if you haven't checked it out yet - there has been some great music and some really talented crafters as well as all the fresh produce!

Going to Market . . .
Thanksgiving Point's Farmer's Market, that is! I am so excited and nervous about tomorrow's debut! Always a little nerve-wracking doing something new! I've got lots of new car seat canopies and blankets ready to go, got my tent canopy for shade, a little cash register, a name banner and a couple of tables - and my awesome kid is going to come help me (a big sacrifice for a 14 year old boy!). If you're in the neighborhood Fridays from 4-8pm, stop in and say "hello". Here is one of my favorite car seat covers that will be available:

Expanding
I'm in the process of branching out a little more. I've just joined luulla.com and placed a couple of items for sale there, and will be participating as a craft vendor in a local farmer's market in the next few weeks. Summer seems to be a slow sales season so I am looking for new ways to reach potential customers. While I've been making enough to cover more than 1/2 my expenses, I'm not really near the "profit" stage of my venture. I am keeping a positive attitude and watching for new opportunities as I enjoy this new journey.

Payday!!
I got my first check from The Quilted Bear! It's not fantastic, but for my first month I am pretty excited. I made enough to cover the booth rental plus buy a good amount of supplies. Since this is the "slow season" I am so happy to have my things selling! I am surprised that the best selling items are the burp cloths and car seat canopies ~ I expected the blankets to be a bigger seller. Oh well, gives me lots of opportunity to make cute new car seat canopies like this one I finished this morning . . .

Too much of a good thing
Wow! Items are flying off the shelves at The Quilted Bear. I couldn't be more thrilled. I've already made my booth rent and still have the rest of the month to make a profit! Here are two of my newest car seat canopies ~ berry cute!!

Now at the Quilted Bear!
I am so excited to finally have a booth at The Quilted Bear (Midvale, UT)! If you are in the area, come on down and check it out!!
I just adore this little hutch!
Many thanks to the gals at Aunt Elsie's in Gardner Village for hooking me up with the great furnishings!

Project Linus
Last Tuesday I was fortunate to be able to attend the April Blanket Making Day of our local chapter and meet some wonderful women working for a great cause. We assembled several blankets, tagged and bundled many more for delivery, and prepared some to be crocheted. The time flew by working and talking with these dedicated volunteers, and I
am already looking forward to next month.
Check out the website to see when your local chapter meets! http://www.projectlinus.org/

Flat Stanley dropped in to help us all the way from Idaho! He thought the blankets were so cozy!

Spring!
I love spring! The snow is thawing, the birds are singing, and my crocus are blooming!
The daffodils and hyacinth are stretching up out of the ground, and should be blooming in the next couple of weeks. It is always such a welcome sight!
I have spent a lot of time on projects around the house, specifically redecorating a couple of rooms.
My daughter and I made this
fun apron for a bridal shower
and I am working on some cute new blankets for the site. I've added some toys and books to pair with our hand made items for a complete shower gift that can be wrapped and shipped directly to the lucky recipient!
